Catering and Retail

Welcome to the Care Co-ops Catering Project

The Care Co-ops Catering and Retail Project is run by its trading umbrella, Care Co-ops Trading. This catering and retail operation is primarily referred to as Nourish Enterprises. The project is responsible for the running of the 20:20 Café at East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre which provides hot and cold meals to patients and visitors to the hospital. The café also provides opportunities for people to participate in catering placements, working both in the kitchen and dealing with the customers. Placements are able to access some training and work towards qualifications with full supervision from trained staff.

The Project also runs the Millview Hospital Shop, a small hospital shop that provides a range of snacks and refreshments within Millview Hospital in Hove.

Care Co-ops Trading is now also responsible for the management of the Care Co-ops Community Farm Project at Stanmer Park. This has enabled there to be more of a clear linkage between the produce grown at the Farm and the food sold at Care Co-ops Trading's catering outlets. All produce grown at the Farm is grown using organic principles.

In addition, the Catering Project also provides some outside hospitality for special events upon request from other organisations. This has proved to be a successful feature of the organisation in the past and has received plenty of positive feedback.
