New Road Nurseries
Care Co-ops took over the New Road Nurseries premises and support services from Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust in November 2010.
New Road Nurseries provides therapeutic work placement opportunities for people with mental health support needs and learning disabilities, as well as selling a range of plants and products from its site shop.
It has developed a number of loyal customers over the years and the intention is to be able to offer a much broader product range that will meet the needs of its new and existing customers.
The nursery site is currently under-utilised and is being developed into a Social Enterprise Eco Centre to make it more effective and ensure its sustainability, with the nursery and its activities remaining the core project of the centre.

Care Co-ops is committed to working towards securing organic status for the site and aims to increase social, environmental and economic impact for the rural community.
In addition to providing a range of opportunities and initiatives direct to local people through funding and income generation, the Social Enterprise Eco Centre is actively seeking to work in partnership with established and start-up businesses, in particular social enterprises, which share the organisation’s values and principles.
